Distance Never Heard Of!
You know Him as the Sovereign One. As the King, sitting upon His heavenly throne. As the Judge, governing from above with justice and righteousness. And God remains distant to you.
Because reverence and awe apart from acceptance and love always results in fear of judgement. And authority and power apart from grace and mercy always results in striving for sacrifice. It’s true, fear and striving keeps God distant to you.
Where you fear to come near, and you strive to get near.
But, oh, dear Child of His, hear God’s call to you, “Take heart… Your sins are forgiven (Matthew 9:2). Come to Me… and I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28).”
God’s perfect will for you is to come near. He has accepted you as you are, for you are loved unconditionally, because of His abundant mercy and grace towards you in Christ Jesus. And your life brings Him glory as you draw close to Him. That is what you were created for. Your life was created to abide in the finished work of Jesus Christ, where your sins are forgiven, and all of God’s love, grace and mercy are shown for all of creation to see; this is the very glory of God!
Because you were created for God’s glory (Isaiah 43:7). And Christ has made the way. Yes, there is only one way to come near, only one way to live for God’s glory, through the blood of Christ Jesus. He has made the way for you to come near. Only Jesus. Jesus has conquered everything that causes fear, finishing every work that leads to striving and results in death. It is finished! Christ has made the way, He has conquered the grave!
“Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.” (Psalm 23:4 NLT)
It is where you must remain, close beside Him, because that is where He is, close beside you.
That is the only place where true worship and pure surrender exist, in the arms of grace and mercy, abiding tightly to Christ in love and unconditional acceptance. Close beside Jesus, where His perfect will is perfected in you for the world to see, it’s where distance is never heard of!
